Case Study 1 – Lori Kiefer
Lori came to see me after having a difficult time in her personal life, which has also affected her work. She no longer wanted to work as a counsellor.
As a result of the “career coaching programme” she developed confidence and found the work she really wanted to do: ‘freelance work teaching counselling skills’. She said: “I think one of the most useful aspects of the career coaching was helping me find out what I really want to do and taking steps towards it with action plans.
It was good that you reminded me about where I’d got to the last time and what I’d planned to do. This helped me to keep me to remember my plans, be aware of my progress and stay on track. I know I can lose confidence and motivation at times, especially when left to my own devices, so it was very helpful when you reminded me of what I can do, because of what I had done before”.
Case Study 2 – Anna Winstanley
Anna came to see me a couple of months after moving to England from New Zealand. She was an artist designer in NZ, but didn’t know what to do in England. She had challenges adapting to the British job market especially being a single mum with two young children.
Our work focused on what she really wanted to do and helping her connect to her heart, as I found she was not giving herself permission to focus on what she really wanted. I used NLP techniques to help her overcome her self-limiting tendencies.
As a result, she reconnected with her passion and decided to start her art design business by seeing how it could be done in the UK. We continued follow up sessions after her coaching programme. She said: “It was helpful to know I had dates lined up to check in with you about my progress. It was good that you reminded me about where I’d got to the last time and what I’d planned to do. This helped me to keep me to remember my plans, be aware of my progress and stay on track. I got a job as a Teaching Assistant in my children’s school. I am now planning to start my own business alongside my part time job and feeling so much more confident about my future career”.
Case study 3 – Angelina Smay
When Angelina found me for Career Transformation Programme she was doing a part-time Masters degree. She was working in a full-time job while she was doing her Masters.
She described her work at the time like this: “The job was ok but undemanding with an unclear development plan and something not feeling quite right. After a session with the University Careers Service, I realised I needed more help than they could offer which led me to research alternative options. One of which these options was Naz’s career coaching service which felt like exactly what I needed as the programme was more than just about jobs and skills.
Throughout the various sessions I learnt more about myself, my values and rediscovered confidence in my skills that would be an asset to my career (despite being made to feel they were unvaluable previously!)”
I followed up with Angelina many years after her career consultancy and found out that she progressed successfully in her career. She says: ‘I have since been clearer and more focused on my real career needs throughout my career”.
Case study 4 – Ben Butt
I met Ben through Anthony Robbins personal development seminars and through London Yes Group. Ben was not fully satisfied with his work at the time. He was saying: ‘There were things I am not happy with my job.’ Ben also mentioned that he was also struggling with his financial management, which at the time was keeping him ‘imprisoned’ in his words.
After completing the ‘Career Transformation Programme’ he summarised his experience with these words: “Getting to know Naz and having several conversations with her, I was aware that some of her questions had me dig much deeper than I had ever done. This naturally created a peak in my curiosity in her work. Soon after our work together I had been able to create a structure and balance to build my own business and projects that interested me. The time spent here was very important as I could see that my focus was in too many places. It was evident that digging deeper had me make decisions that were more aligned to internal values that were important versus chasing something that was validating my insecurities”.
I followed up with Ben about 10 years after his programme and found out that he has continued well in his Career progress: He described: “Since doing this work, I have managed to keep my media company going for 10 years now, gone through a pandemic and progressing from there. Without that initial grounding it would not have been possible. I have also begun other projects in the right way and stayed focussed on an internally guided compass which was a major deep dive discovery when working with Naz”.
Case study 5 – Penelope Kettle
Penelope came to see me because she was having difficulty finding work after 10 years break as a mum. After two coaching sessions she started realising that she was resisting going back to the job she used to have. Our coaching sessions filled her with enthusiasm, and after she had done the tests and reflections, she was clearer about what she wanted to do.
As a result, she found a permanent teaching position where she was using her transferable skills whilst at the same time, she was also excited about learning new skills too. Her case study and CV, which highlights her transferable skills has motivated many other clients. She says: “I am so glad that I decided to change direction and look for a job in a school rather than an office, I enjoy every day ….”.
